• Enhanced DBS Certificate or Update Service check. We can set this up for you at a cost.
• Minimum Level 3 practitioner. If you are a couple, one of you should have childcare experience and a minimum Level 3 childcare qualification.
• Safeguarding training. We can set this up for you at a cost.
• 2 supporting character references.

VALUE:

Beginning with an extensive tour of the Kindergarten, we will take you through the ins and outs of managing holistically, site design, enterprises and business planning over 6 full days of training. There will be opportunity to rotate around different enterprises (e.g holiday club, Forest School, 2 year old programme, funded 3 year old programme, Flexi-school, stay and play groups). This is to give you an insight and hands-on learning into what it takes to build a sustainable and thriving outdoor nursery. You will experience and get to grips with the daily rhythm of the Kindergarten, which has been refined over 7 long years. To be frank, if you aren't working in these enterprises on a day-to-day basis, then there can be no real transmission of true knowledge and insight, only sharing of ideas and concepts. This is why we are looking for those with a genuine interest in starting an outdoor nursery within two years. 

OUR APPROACH:

We are dedicated to supporting others to initiate and manage their own independent outdoor nurseries for themselves in a way that builds and reactivates communities and local enconomies. We have built in an intensive training programme to the schedule, so not only do you experience the different enterprises, you go on to learn the 'behind-the-scenes' essentials too.

Our experience shows that it is clearly the 'behind-the-scenes' elements, the decision making and planning, the economics and monitoring that makes it all work. This is why when you come to this training, we open all doors and share from our direct experience. No nonsense, just straight to the heart of it.... The aim of this intensive programme is for the right person, who draws on the experience fully, to leave ready to set up their own outdoor nursery when they complete the programme. 

This isn't a franchise scheme. We want to work with people who want to learn how to design, install and manage a financially healthy outdoor nursery, to work in and with their local community. We welcome applicants from out of the area, and can point you in the right direction of nearby accommodation, including camping options. Lunch is provided on work days.
